Nicki Minaj Releases Megan Thee Stallion Diss Track 'Big Foot' amid Their Ongoing Feud
Nicki Minaj appears to be retaliating against Megan Thee Stallion with her own version of "Roman's Revenge." Just three days after Megan released her latest single "Hiss," which fans speculate includes a line aimed at Minaj, the "Super Bass" rapper dropped a new diss track titled "Big Foot" on Monday. Minaj has made it clear on social media that "Big Foot" is directly aimed at Megan Thee Stallion, serving as a response to the song Megan released earlier.
In "Hiss," Megan Thee Stallion asserts her dominance and addresses artists who have criticized her in the media. However, "Big Foot" appears to be a direct response to a specific verse in "Hiss" that mentions Megan's Law, a policy related to sex offender registration. This reference is significant because Nicki Minaj's husband, Kenneth Petty, is a level two sex offender in New York state. Petty, aged 45, served four years in prison after being convicted of attempted rape in the first degree in April 1995 for an assault on a then-16-year-old girl the previous year.
"Bigfoot" received predominantly negative feedback upon its release, with many criticizing various aspects of the production. Comments on social media platforms were filled with criticism, with one person tweeting, "This cannot be the same woman who made 'Itty Bitty Piggy' ... I am astounded by how bad this is. From the flow, to the punchlines." Another comment highlighted how Nicki Minaj's own jealousy seemed to overshadow her talent, stating, "Nicki Minaj allowed her own bitter jealousy to take her crown. Her fans won’t care, which is fine. But this is sad to watch."
Speculation suggests that Megan Thee Stallion's collaboration with Cardi B on "WAP" might have been perceived as a slight toward Nicki Minaj, given the history between Minaj and Cardi B. The two New York rappers had a turbulent relationship, culminating in a highly publicized altercation at the Harper’s Bazaar Icons party in 2018.
Additionally, in Minaj's 2023 song "Red Ruby Da Sleaze," there's a line mentioning horses: "Seven-hundred on 'em horses when we fixin' to leave (Uh-oh)/But I don't f-ck with horses since Christopher Reeves." Some interpreted this line as a reference to Megan Thee Stallion, alluding to the "Stallion" in her stage name. However, neither rapper addressed this speculation directly.
