Karoline Leavitt gained significant attention within MAGA circles after being removed from a CNN segment following a heated exchange with one of its hosts. This incident likely prepared her for her new role as White House press secretary, a position that will involve frequent confrontations with the press.

Announcing her appointment, Donald Trump praised her abilities, saying, "Karoline is smart, tough, and a highly effective communicator. I am confident she will excel at the podium and help deliver our message as we Make America Great Again."

At 27 years old, Leavitt becomes the youngest press secretary in U.S. history, surpassing Ron Ziegler, who was 29 when appointed by Richard Nixon in 1969.

Leavitt first made history as the youngest female nominee for U.S. Congress during her 2022 campaign in New Hampshire. Despite narrowly losing by 15,000 votes, she joined Trump’s campaign team shortly thereafter, further solidifying her role within the MAGA movement.

The rising Republican star Karoline Leavitt adapted to the intense demands of her campaign, often operating on just four hours of sleep per night during her pregnancy. Her assertiveness was evident in a June clash with CNN presenter Kasie Hunt. The dispute arose when Leavitt criticized the upcoming Trump-Biden presidential debate, labeling it a "hostile environment" for Trump and accusing moderators Jake Tapper and Dana Bash of previous bias against him.

During the heated exchange, Hunt warned Leavitt that the interview would be cut if she continued attacking CNN colleagues. True to her word, Hunt ended the interview moments later.

Leavitt’s commitment to her role was further demonstrated when she returned to the airwaves just four days after enduring a challenging labor to deliver her son, showcasing her determination and dedication to her career.
