Lamar Jackson runs through the Chiefs' defense to catch his own deflected pass.

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson expressed his frustration by ripping off his helmet and slamming it to the ground after throwing an interception in the end zone during the fourth quarter. Despite being considered a top contender for the NFL Most Valuable Player award, Jackson's season ended disappointingly in the playoffs.

Jackson and the Ravens, who were the top seed in the AFC, struggled to advance the ball and committed three turnovers in a 17-10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday. This defeat brings Jackson's postseason record to 2-4.

"I'm not frustrated at all," Jackson said. "I'm angry about losing. We were just one game away from the Super Bowl. We've been waiting for this opportunity, but unfortunately, we fell short. However, I believe in our team. We'll work hard in the offseason, improve, and strive to be in this position again — but this time, on the winning side."

Jackson had been in exceptional form leading up to the Ravens' first home AFC Championship Game in their 28-year history. With seven consecutive wins (including last week's divisional victory), Jackson had guided Baltimore to an average of 33.9 points per game.

ackson is the top choice among bettors to secure his second NFL MVP title, having achieved career highs with 3,678 passing yards and a 67.2% completion rate. Throughout the season, the Ravens emerged as the league's most formidable team, boasting an undefeated record of 6-0 against opponents with at least three games over .500 and defeating them by an average margin of 26.2 points.

However, on Sunday, Jackson experienced a regression to his past postseason errors. Across his four playoff defeats, he has averaged 10.5 points, recording four touchdowns and eight turnovers.

"There are moments that define you, and this is just one that will shape his career," remarked Ravens wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. "The greatest athletes have all faced adversity, and I believe this won't deter him from pursuing his ultimate objective. If anything, it will motivate him to work even harder."
